Question of the Day: Day 115
Would you be loyal to a person (or country) even if you thought that they were wrong about something?
(function() { (function(){function b(g){this.t={};this.tick=function(h,m,f){var n=f!=void 0?f:(new Date).getTime();this.t[h]=[n,m];if(f==void 0)try{window.console.timeStamp("CSI/"+h)}catch(q){}};this.getStartTickTime=function(){return this.t.start[0]};this.tick("start",null,g)}var a;if(window.performance)var e=(a=window.performance.timing)&&a.responseStart;var p=e>0?new b(e):new b;window.jstiming={Timer:b,load:p};if(a){var c=a.navigationStart;c>0&&e>=c&&(window.jstiming.srt=e-c)}if(a){var d=window.jstiming.load; c>0&&e>=c&&(d.tick("_wtsrt",void 0,c),d.tick("wtsrt_","_wtsrt",e),d.tick("tbsd_","wtsrt_"))}try{a=null,window.chrome&&window.chrome.csi&&(a=Math.floor(window.chrome.csi().pageT),d&&c>0&&(d.tick("_tbnd",void 0,window.chrome.csi().startE),d.tick("tbnd_","_tbnd",c))),a==null&&window.gtbExternal&&(a=window.gtbExternal.pageT()),a==null&&window.external&&(a=window.external.pageT,d&&c>0&&(d.tick("_tbnd",void 0,window.external.startE),d.tick("tbnd_","_tbnd",c))),a&&(window.jstiming.pt=a)}catch(g){}})();window.tickAboveFold=function(b){var a=0;if(b.offsetParent){do a+=b.offsetTop;while(b=b.offsetParent)}b=a;b<=750&&window.jstiming.load.tick("aft")};var k=!1;function l(){k||(k=!0,window.jstiming.load.tick("firstScrollTime"))}window.addEventListener?window.addEventListener("scroll",l,!1):window.attachEvent("onscroll",l); })();
We are looking for answers to some hard questions as we dig deep inside and explore our own core values and how that guides not just our own lives but the very world that we live in. These questions will be asked to a group of high school students but we would also like to hear from the world at large. While we hope to keep this forum wide open we do reserve the right to delete responses that we find to be offensive or combative in nature. Thank you for participating with us.

Loyal doesn't mean "being a yes-man". Loyalty to a person or country means that you stand by that person in whatever decision they make, and give your honest advice along the way. But whatever decision the friend you are loyal to makes, it is your role as a loyal friend to let him make it and let him deal with the consequences of that choice, even if it means helping him heal later on.
it means respect,and i think that they will always have lolalty for my family
Loyalty is an important thing. I try to be as loyal as I can. Not blindly following, but if my friend screws up, I will let him know and try to help pick up the pieces. Loyalty isn't following him in stupidity, its supporting him afterwards. Loyalty to a country is not as important. Its good to be loyal to your country, but not to let that misguide you.
In my opinion, loyalty means not turning your back on people- in good or bad times.
I tend to call things the way I see them... I consider myself to be open minded, but if I strongly feel that something is dead wrong, I will call it what it is.
Loyalty is about being there in the good times and in the bad times.
It is about being honest even when it hurts.
And loyalty is NOT about having to be right 100% of the time. We all make mistakes, even countries and governments, so loyalty doesn't just vanish if someone is wrong about something unless it is something seriously major like human rights violations.
If you are truly loyal then you see it through and you work to make things better when they stray off course.
