Question of the Day: Day 353

Is it possible for a child to be born already wired to be "bad" regardless of environmental factors or all children born "good" and only learn to do bad things?

I don't believe that anyone's born "already wired to be bad." However, I agree that the behavior that we're showing are all learned. We're "good" or "bad" in relation to others because of our upbringing, environment, or influences.

Nature vs Nurture~

While I certainly believe that our environment can strongly influence our behaviors, for better or worse, and that there are some people who can learn to do better, I also think that there are those who are born biologically lacking development in the section of the brain which moderates emotions, empathy, & moral reasoning, & feelings of remorse.

Many, but not all people who do "bad" things have been raised in, or exposed to non-nurturing and severe environments. However, some such as serial murderer Ted Bundy, for example, have been reported to have had a "normal" healthy upbringing & yet have exhibited socio- or psycho pathological features/behaviors.
