Question of the Day: Day 347

If your country asked (drafted) you to participate in a war that you did not believe in, what would you do?

Give unto Caesar what is due to Caesar.

I will participate and make the most out of it... and return alive and in one piece.

Many countries require at least some of their citizens participate in military service, but since 1973 the US has had a fully volunteer army. In return for their service numerous benefits are received, such as education, health care, and home loans.

If a draft were required and I were selected, however, I feel it would be my responsibility to contribute. With the benefits of living in a society come responsibilties. Policy should be set via the democratic process, but once a decision is made the country should present a unified front.

I was thinking of joining the military when I was about 20 years old. My father talked me out of it. He said that it was no place for me. Old fashioned that way- in a sweet way.

If the military wanted me then, I guess I would have gone. If they wanted me today, at my age... ha!-
I'd laugh myself to death. I'm fairly happy with my "motion"... but it isn't what it used to be.

I would go because it is the law of the land. I would stay true to my belief's and represent my country. I would seek out spiritual guidence so I would choose the right during the war.
I would continue to pray for my platon , my family, and myself.
