Question of the Day: Day 293

Have you or people that you know ever had terrible or tragic events in your life and yet were able to rise above it and make good choices? Where do you think that strength or resilience comes from?

Yes. Her name is Judy & she had a horriffic child-hood. She is now the mother of five children, teaches Sunday school classes, sits on the board of recreation in the town she lives in, and is raising two foster
children. Despite the terrible things that happened to her- AND THEY WERE TERRIBLE- she is one of the most caring, level headed, & finest people I know.

I think that her resilience came from keeping a well protected place inside of herself. Her spirit may have been tried, but was never broken. She has also forgiven her parents for the abuse. She, with all her insight, & being CHOSE to do better.

Higher Self - there's a part of us that always knows what is "true" - and how to be so to ourselves.

If life is a test, all I need to see if I'm 'done' is to check whether or not my body is still breathing. If I'm still alive, then I know I have options, and better get to figuring them out.
