Question of the Day: Day 289

Do you think that the punishments for abusing animals should be the same as those for abusing children? Why or why not?

I think that BOTH are deplorable.

Actually there were laws to protect animals before there were laws to protect children.

Equalivant punishment for both? Not so sure about that, but certainly both deserve to be protected from abused & where abuse occurs, both warrent punishment.

I also think both should be protected from abuse. When it comes time to punish, I guess I would say that crimes against children deserve harsher punishments. That doesn't really mean that I think animals have no value. But I think it's only natural to try to protect our own species more than others.
