Question of the Day: Day 286

Do you think that women who use abortion as a birth control method and do it 3 or more times should be allowed to continue having abortions? Should there be a limit to how many abortions a woman can have and what should happen when a woman meets or exceeds that limit?

Yes, for those who use abortion as a method of birth control there should be a limit. I am pro-choice, but am not pro-irresponsibility. I, personally would never use abortion as a mere method of birth control. The thought of repeted abortions is just obscene.

How of that kind of nonchalant mistakes can one make?
There are several methods of birth control available to women- abortion should not be one of them. Anyone can make a mistake BUT how flippen irresponsible can one be, & have no consequences?

Maybe the consequence should be court ordered tubaligation.

I think therapy should be required -abortion can be construed as "necessary" in some cases (although I don't support abortion under any circumstances, it's not my body; what seems wrong for me might not be for someone else), I would not presume to control someone else.

I know women who have had multiple abortions, and as they age, the effects of removing a potential child from their bodies by direct intervention, and the consideration of the "what if" factor as time passes can wreak havoc on self-esteem, personality, and emotional / mental stability.

I also don't think forcing a woman to bear (or not bear) a child is right under any circumstance.

However, educating women concerning consequences can help them make a better decision before the decision con no longer be un-made.
