Do you believe in luck (good or bad) or do you think that each person creates his/her own opportunities in life?

We are looking for answers to some hard questions as we dig deep inside and explore our own core values and how that guides not just our own lives but the very world that we live in. These questions will be asked to a group of high school students but we would also like to hear from the world at large. While we hope to keep this forum wide open we do reserve the right to delete responses that we find to be offensive or combative in nature. Thank you for participating with us.

i think that everyone has luck it is up to you if you are going to missuse it.
Energy follows attention (intention). I believe that if your energy goes toward negative things, negative things will come to you. If you focus your energy on positive things, positive things will come to you.
Naturally, I try to focus on the positive. Not that I always succeed, but I try.
I don't belive in luck i belive in god and he is all the luck i need
Yes I belive in luck. I also belive it has alot to do with the person.
If by "luck" you mean a karmic balance, that we bring about our own fate, whether plotted out before our own births in order to learn from our experiences, and also as determined by our conscious choices in our lives from moment to moment, then yes.

i believe theres luck here and there but it can also just be the person his or herself.
I believe most of the time we control our fate.sometimes we do get luck, but what about if it is just coincidence.So think about that.
I believe that what we call luck is really the ability to see or not see all of the potential in situations.
Luck is what you make it - not what happens to you by chance.
Look at people who suffer from diseases (especially young children) and how incredibly BLESSED their lives seem to be in their short time on earth. Perhaps, they are able to focus on what is truly important in life because realize how precious it is and not just blame bad luck for their circumstances.
