We are looking for answers to some hard questions as we dig deep inside and explore our own core values and how that guides not just our own lives but the very world that we live in. These questions will be asked to a group of high school students but we would also like to hear from the world at large. While we hope to keep this forum wide open we do reserve the right to delete responses that we find to be offensive or combative in nature. Thank you for participating with us.

Warm sunny days on the beach with my son. Big bowls of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Old couples in the park watching the birds. Children laughing. Good friends. Music.
and Hugs!
;-)
A warm engaging smile on someone's face. a gorgeous spring sunny day with green grass and colourful flowers. Music. Playing Music. Mac and cheese on a cold day. Blue skies without a cloud.
Making a positive difference in someone's life. taking pictures of things that I love. Walking and exploring a new destination or the unknown places of the world. Change.
I agree with WiNgS that happiness and Joy are not the same thing. I believe that happiness is an emotion that our physical body feels in response to things in our lives but Joy is a response at a deeper, spiritual, level. So to feel Joy I'd say that I am responding to something that touches my soul/spirit and that is touched by the Divine.
Forgiveness, unconditional love, truth and beauty...these are the things that bring me Joy.
I know I'm late for the earlybird special, but I didn't want to miss out on this one.
What brings me joy:
When my wife and I are getting along great.
Standing on a hillside checking out the world after a freshly fallen snow.
The way my 5 year old niece's face lights up right before she runs and gives me a hug.
Reruns of The Andy Griffith show.
The right song at the right time.
My son calls from college just to talk.
Those rare moments when I feel really connected to the rest of humanity...
Being with my Grandma. Knowing that I am not hurting her anymore. Seeing myself in the mirror in the morning and knowing that I can still look at myself. WRITING most indefinitely because thats always been my joy in times of sorrow. Being able to go home. Knowing that know one can ever hurt me again. Seeing a smile on someones face. Not being with JAMES. (cringe)
Thoughs are just some of the things that make me happy in this world. I used to not be able to describe some of thoughs things because I used to not be happy. I have realy grown alot since i've been in the place I am today.
I have learned not to live in the state of sorrow for it only kills my spirit. And my spirit will live forever.
The people that care about me and knowing that I have freedom and a choice.
I feel joy mostly from nature, either just being outside and absorbing the views or from positive interactions with people and animals. It is a deep feeling, having more impact than just a laugh. It sits, it stays with you. It calms, both myself and others. It is a form of healing.
Knowing that if I can help someone really makes me fell hood that I was able to help people.
