We are looking for answers to some hard questions as we dig deep inside and explore our own core values and how that guides not just our own lives but the very world that we live in. These questions will be asked to a group of high school students but we would also like to hear from the world at large. While we hope to keep this forum wide open we do reserve the right to delete responses that we find to be offensive or combative in nature. Thank you for participating with us.

Winter in the midwest was always difficult for me. If there was no sunshine I would get depressed - tired, achy, sad... After I moved to the southwest, my body wanted to maintain that 35+ year pattern, and I had to actively remind my body that, yes, it's 'winter', but LOOK, there's some sunshine!
I may go back to a temperate climate someday - and I can deal with the seasonal depression by using saunas and (maybe) even (very limited) tanning, or lots of incandescent light to help me balance. For me, meditation and a little radiation goes a long way!
YEs... If it is so hot outside, It makes me ill. It drains me of my energy.
In the winter, I often get the blues , when we have ice and snow.
Winters in New England last a bit too long for my liking; by February, I've had enough & am ready for spring (which doesn't last long enough).
So long as there have plenty of sunny days during any season, I fair well. However, if there a several consecutive sunless days or weeks, I become less motivated & sometimes feel blue.
I purchased a (light therapy) sun~box to help me deal with the winter blues. I have found that if I get out of doors & walk during any season, I feel better. I usually plan to take a vacation every Arpil~ knowing that I am going to be getting away helps me to get thru the months of Feb, & March.
I also have a cd with the sounds of summer recorded on it... the sound of a waterfall, birds calling, peep toads, that kind of thing.
I dislike having to keep the house (windows) closed up due to either cold temps/indoor heat or hot temps/air conditioning. I love Spring & Autumn~ I do, I do!!!
